Harborcreek Township will see further development over the next several months as more residential and commercial properties make way for Buffalo Road.
We went to Harborcreek to learn more about this development.
It is not only being developed in the city, but also eastward into the Harborcreek parish. Commercial and residential developments are emerging along Buffalo Road.
Harborcreek Township sees more local and national developments on Buffalo Road, including Chipotle, Modwash, and a new Roscos sports bar.
The township overseers hope that this will attract more residents to the eastern part of the county.

“Growth is a big thing for us, but intelligent growth where we want it. So on Buffalo Road, at intersections, where there is infrastructure, where there is water and sewage, where we are designed to grow, and that is exactly what is happening right now. So it’s really a win for today, ”said Dean Pepicello, Harborcreek Township Supervisor.
Housing developments are also giving way to Harborcreek after overseers said single-family homes are needed.
Maleno Custom Building and Real Estate is adding a new community of 14 homes off Buffalo Road on Suzanne Drive called Harbor Woods at Six Mile Creek.
“We knew there was a demand for housing in Harborcreek, especially single-family homes, and after talking to the caretakers there, we realized that there was definitely a need for more housing in Harborcreek. We were very excited about this opportunity, ”said Natalie Washburn, Owner / Broker, Maleno Custom Building.

“Yes, with everything that happens around we have had pretty strong negotiations with the foreign Kmart, the old Kmart builders on the corner of Buffalo Road and Nagle. It’s not there yet, but we’re pretty optimistic for 2022 that hopefully there will be good news on this, ”said Pepicello.
A native of Erie, Maleno owner Washburn said she was excited to be part of the growing communities not just in Harborcreek but across Erie.
“It’s exciting, it’s very exciting for Erie. You know the coming growth. I think people have been a little skeptical about Erie’s growth at times, and I’m just excited to see all the churches benefit from the growth, “said Washburn.
The Chipotle is slated to open at the end of the month.
