Regent Square brings new plaza, retail to Allen Parkway corridor
GID development group unveiled the eight acre second phase of the Regent Square development on West Dallas Street and Dunlavy along the Allen Parkway corridor.
The project consists of The Sterling, a 590-unit mid-rise apartment complex managed by Windsor Communities and 55,000 square feet of retail space surrounding two central lawns with water features, walkways and covered pavilions in Regent Square Park.
Arch-Con is the general contractor for the project, which was designed by the Boston-based architecture firm CBT and Houston-based OJB Landscape Architecture. JLL handles the retail leasing. Events are held in the central green spaces, including outdoor films, live music, fitness events and markets.
The sales area includes three free-standing restaurants with roof terraces. Underbelly Hospitality will open Georgia James Steakhouse and Pastore, a casual Italian-American restaurant, in two of its 16,162 square feet. The Flight Club, a British restaurant and darts club, opens on January 14th in an area of 8,500 square feet. The new phase of Regent Square, which will ultimately extend over 24 acres, joins The Sovereign Apartment Tower at 3233 W. Dallas. GID has corporate offices in Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, and San Francisco.

Uberrito Fresh Mex rented 2,500 square feet in the Ravenwood Village Shopping Center off Interstate 45 South 255 in Huntsville. Clay Trozzo from Property Commerce represented the landlord. The tenant was represented by Kristen Barker from Wulfe & Co.
Hunington properties is developing Shops at Meridiana, a 15,489-square-foot center located at 3331 Meridiana Parkway in Iowa Colony at the entrance to the Meridiana Congregation, is under construction and is expected to open in March. Located south of Pearland, the center becomes one Starbucks with passage, Center Court Pizza & Brew, Meridiana Urgent Care, Rosharon smiles Dental and Today’s vision. An area of 1,310 square meters remains available.
Katy Mills, a value and outlet mall owned by Simon Property Group at 5000 Katy Mills Circle in Katy, announced new tenants. FYE, a consumer electronics retailer that sells music, movies, games, gadgets, and collectibles, opened a store near Ross Dress for Less. horst, a retailer that sells bras, underwear, swimwear and sportswear in a variety of sizes, will open across from Books-A-Million in January. Kilwins, a chocolate and ice cream parlor, opens across from Aldo in March.
based in Houston Whitestone REIT expanded its holdings in Austin with the acquisition of Anderson Arbor, a 89,746 square foot retail center on Highway 183 and Anderson Mills Road. The center, which is anchored by Bank of America, Kerbey Lane Café, and the Melting Pot, is 90.9 percent let.
Katy’s tutoring club rented 1,400 square feet in stores in Katy Reserve, FM 1463 and Spring Green Boulevard, Katy, from NewQuest Properties. JJ McDermott and Kevin Sims of NewQuest Properties represented the landlord. Nathan Buckoff from ReMax Commercial represented the tenant.
