Notice to support TCFD recommendations

Frontier Real Estate Investment Corporation (the “Investment Company”) hereby announces that Mitsui Fudosan Frontier REIT Management Inc., the Investment Corporation’s asset management company (the “Asset Management Company”), expresses its support for the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate -related Financial Disclosures (“TCFD”) and also joined the TCFD Consortium, a group of domestic companies supporting the TCFD Recommendations.

  1. Overview of TCFD
    TCFD is an international initiative established by the Financial Stability Board (“FSB”) at the request of the G20 to discuss disclosure of climate-related financial information and financial institutions’ responses. TCFD publishes recommendations for companies to disclose their governance, strategy, risk management, and metrics and targets for climate-related risks and opportunities.
  2. Overview of the TCFD Consortium
    The TCFD Consortium is a group of companies and financial institutions that endorse the TCFD Recommendations. The consortium was formed with a view to further discussions on effective corporate disclosures of climate-related information and initiatives to link disclosed information to appropriate investment decisions by financial institutions and other organizations.

3. The future initiatives of the investment company

In line with the asset management company’s sustainability policy, the investment company recognizes the importance of environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations and implements initiatives to reduce environmental impacts and promote coexistence and collaboration with local communities.

The capital investment company will continue to work on environmental/energy-saving measures and efficient energy use in its own properties as well as promoting environmental awareness and reducing environmental pollution in the future.
