Homes sell for $2.37 million
Jason Dittenber; Jerad Roberts; Devin Lee, CCIM; and Robin Willett of Northcap Commercial announced the recent sale of 2301 Wengert Ave. Apartments announced for $2,375,000 ($135,714/unit).
This sale included 20 units sold in 1962 at Wengert Ave. were built in 2301. This transaction was completed on January 19, Northcap Commercial representing the seller, SSAT Investment Properties LLC.

TSK Architects announces new shareholders
TSK welcomes the addition of seven new shareholders to the company. The increase increases the number of shareholders in the existing 65-person company to eight.
The new shareholders are Jason Andoscia, AIA; Kevin Kemner, Associate AIA; Chris Lujan, AIA, LEED GA; Jeni Panars, AIA, LEED AP bd+c; Bruce Preston, RA, DBIA, PMP, LEED AP bd+c; Mike Purtill, AIA, LEED AP bd+c, and Kevin Quan, AIA. Windom Kimsey, FAIA, LEED AP, will remain in his role as active President and CEO.

Cadence opens Smith’s Marketplace
Smith’s Food & Drug has opened a new $24 million Smith’s Marketplace store at the Cadence Village Center at 845 E. Lake Mead Parkway in Henderson.
This is the second Marketplace store in Nevada and will create 230 new jobs in the area. Store Manager is Scott Harper who has over 23 years experience in grocery retail.
The 125,000-square-foot department store offers complete grocery items; Clothing, household goods, decoration; toys; Hardware; small kitchen appliances; a wide range of natural, organic and special bulk products; seasonal products; and fresh flower selection.
Smith’s Dine-in-Food fare serves Starbucks coffee. There’s also a Murray’s Cheese Shop, fresh sushi; a full-service bakery; a Chef Shop with ready-to-eat salads; Chef’s main courses and vegetables; Pizza Romana take-away dishes; and Boar’s Head sandwiches, which can be enjoyed in the large customer seating area.
In addition, the store has a one-way drive-thru pharmacy and an on-site Smith’s Fuel Center that offers ethanol-free gasoline for boats, trucks, RVs, and SUVs.
“We are excited to open the doors of our second Smith’s Marketplace in Southern Nevada,” said Aubriana Martindale, Smith’s corporate affairs manager. “Our Marketplace stores serve as a one-stop shop for all of our customers’ needs, and we are committed to providing our Henderson customers with a complete, fresh and friendly shopping experience.”
A specially commissioned art mural designed by local artist Joseph Watson hangs in the store’s dining area, reflecting the surrounding Henderson community. Watson focused on recreation, natural wildlife, nearby wetlands and the beautiful homes in Cadence to inspire his mural. Each of these elements is composed into a rich, vibrant scene that reflects the tone of the Cadence district.
As part of the company Zero Hunger | Smith’s Zero Waste initiative has implemented energy-saving technologies through heating, cooling, water and lighting.
Freezers and refrigerators will be illuminated with more efficient LED lights. Smith’s avoids landfill by reducing packaging design, recycling plastic, or donating safe, perishable foods to the Three Square Food Bank.
During construction, Smith’s asked the client to recycle 90 percent of all the project’s non-hazardous waste, such as scrap wood, metal, cardboard, concrete brick and plastic.
To celebrate the grand opening of the marketplace and continue their commitment to Zero Hunger | Zero Waste, Smith’s will make donations to local hunger relief programs in the Henderson community, including $9,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Southern Nevada and $5,000 to Communities in Schools of Nevada.
In 2021, Smith’s donated 1.2 million meals to the Three Square Food Bank, and their new marketplace will complement those efforts with their food rescue program. In addition, Smith’s is donating $2,000 to the neighboring Basic High School.
Corcoran Global Living welcomes RCM Realty Group
Corcoran Global Living, an independently owned and operated subsidiary of Corcoran Group LLC, has welcomed Carson City-based RCM Realty Group to its growing operation. With this latest addition, Corcoran Global Living has become one of the top five brokerage firms in Nevada with annual gross sales of $2.1 billion.
Corcoran Global Living has opened 18 offices since entering the Reno/Lake Tahoe market in northern Nevada and California nearly two years ago. They are located in Las Vegas, Henderson, Lake Las Vegas, Summerlin, Reno, South Lake Tahoe, Zephyr Cove, Incline Village, Tahoe City, Truckee, Sacramento and the newest locations in Gardnerville and Carson City.
RCM Realty Group first opened its doors in 2014 when friends and colleagues Heidi McFadden, Mark Turner and Sam Landis decided that there was an unmet need in the Carson City real estate brokerage market for a smaller, unaffiliated, boutique real estate company and they needed a deep understanding for real estate in Carson City and the ability to attract and retain both new and established highly productive agents.
At the time, McFadde had over 10 years experience managing and selling for a local real estate brokerage firm and had a unique ability to communicate and connect with the types of agents it takes to build a world class office. Turner had a broker’s license, land for development, and had operated a smaller brokerage firm, Silver Oak Properties Inc., since the mid-1990’s. Landis was a home builder who had partnered with Turner to grow his business through access to private financing and inventoried residential land . The two men were among the first home builders in northern Nevada to begin venturing capital and building homes after the recession. The three pooled their resources and talents to create RCM Realty Group and by 2016 had three locations between Carson City and the Carson Valley.

McFadden, Turner and Landis join Corcoran Global Living as partners. McFadden will also serve as District Office Manager for the Carson City and Gardnerville offices.
