High Desert Real Estate Symposium & Forecast returns to Victorville
The 2022 High Desert Real Estate Symposium & Forecast will return to an in-person format when the popular event comes to Victorville.
Over 250 developers, investors, owners, government and community leaders are expected to attend the event on March 24 at the Hilton Garden Inn Conference Center.
Hosted by Coldwell Banker Commercial, attendees will learn insights about the current state of the High Desert market, what the region has endured since the COVID-19 pandemic began and what the future may hold.
CBC President Jason Lamoreau and CB Home Solutions President Chris Lamoreaux will lead this year’s nearly four-hour event.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the symposium was canceled in 2020 and went to an online format last year.
City manager panels
A popular segment of the symposium has been the City Manager Panel, which has included a sneak peek of major projects coming to High Desert municipalities.
This year’s managers will include Doug Robertson from the Town of Apple Valley, Nils Bentsen who represents the City of Hesperia and Keith Metzler with the City of Victorville.
Also joining the panel, Jessie Flores with the City of Adelanto and interim leader Jim Hart from the City of Barstow.
Bentsen may discuss one of the biggest projects in the High Desert, the construction of the Silverwood Project, formerly the Tapestry Project.
Constructed in nine phases over 20 years, the 15,633 homes will be situated in the master-planned development between Ranchero Road and Highway 173 in the Summit Valley area of Hesperia.
Construction on Silverwood started in December and is focused around the Ranchero and Avenue I area, Project General Manager John Ohanian told the Daily Press.
“The first phase of the project will include about 2,104 units all generally on the north end of the property,” said Ohanian, who expects residents to move into Phase 1 of Silverwood by the end of the first quarter of 2024.

Previously, Thornburg’s presentations have provided analysis of data to provide local businesses, government agencies, developers and investors with information to enhance the long-term decision making for the local business community.
Thornburg’s presentations have focused specifically on the local and regional economy in California and the High Desert.
Chris Lamoreaux will speak on the housing market and share a historical review and forecast.
Greg Burns, Sr. VP of Investment Property Exchange Service, Inc. is expected to discuss 1031 Exchanges in 2022 and more.
CBC Vice President Bob Basen, who is considered an industrial expert, will discuss the state of the industrial market and outlook for the remainder of the year.
CBC’s VP of Commercial Investments Jerrad Schendel will discuss several topics, including the 20% increase in rental rates and how it relates to the future of the real estate market.
The 2022 High Desert Real Estate Symposium & Forecast is scheduled from 8 am to 12:30 pm on March 24 at the Hilton Garden Inn Conference Center located at 12603 Mariposa Road in Victorville.
