Commercial Real Estate McCaffery lands Argentinian restaurant for Strip District – WPXI

PITTSBURGH — Chicago-based McCaffery Inc. has landed a New York restaurant inspired by the Argentinian flavors of Buenos Aires for the ground floor of 1600 Smallman, the headquarters of Aurora Innovation Inc. in the Strip District.

The restaurant is Balvanera, and led by Chef Fernando Navas, who worked in such restaurants elBulli in Barcelona, ​​Nobu in Miami and Sushisamba in New York before launching his own restaurant on New York’s Lower East Side.

Working with wife and co-owner Meredith Boyle, a native of O’Hara Township, the new restaurant is slated for a 4,400-square-foot location along a nearly reinventing stretch of Smallman Street; the owners are shooting to open by the end of the year, with construction timing still to be fully determined.
