ANGIE LEONARD Obituary (2022) – San Antonio, TX
Angie Leonard went home to Heaven to reunite with our Lord on April 14, 2022 at the age of 73. She was first and foremost a lover of our Lord. She made no secret of this fact and shared her love of Jesus with all who would listen.
The eldest of six siblings, Angie often stepped into as the matriarch of the family. She was her younger siblings’ friend to lean on and shoulder to cry on; each of her five siblings lived with her at one time or another, knowing they could seek shelter and unconditional love from Angie. Again, now, she goes to Heaven first to prepare the way.
As each of Angie’s nieces and nephews was born, her devotion to her family only grew. Weekends were spent teaching the kids to water ski in the warm sunshine of Medina Lake. Even in late adulthood, Angie remembered these memories with nostalgia, smiling as she recalled the parties and laughs.
Angie married the love of her life, Joe, on February 19, 1983 and loved him fiercely for more than 39 years. Such a genuine, deep love is rare—their devotion to each other remains an example of what a marriage should be to all.
Angie had a successful career in real estate for over 40 years. In 2000, she was inducted into the Remax 100% Club and would go on to receive the Remax Hall of Fame Lifetime Earnings Award in 2003. Angie was born and raised in San Antonio and took pride in selling real estate in the city she loved. She retired from Remax and real estate in 2021 having found the perfect home for dozens of family members and friends.
Nearest to Angie’s heart were her two daughters, Crystal and Debbie, and her three granddaughters Madison, Emily, and Marlee. She was an exceptionally proud grandmother and expressed her love for her girls to anyone who would listen.
Their hearts remain full as they remember Angie as the beautiful, fun, Nana who pushed them in strollers around Sea World and chased them through the sand on Rockport beach.
Angie is survived in death by her devoted and ever faithful husband, Joe; her oldest daughter, Crystal Metzger; her youngest daughter, Debbie Wiatrek and husband David; her three grandchildren, Madison, Emily, and Marlee; and her five siblings: Rose Harms and husband Larry; Butch Langenberg and wife Mary Beth; Marilyn Graham and husband Glenn; Linda Eller and husband Jimmy; and Ellen Riedel and husband Kenny. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Oran and Betty Langenberg.
A celebration of life service will be held in Boerne at The Kendall Inn and Event Hall, located at 215 Lohmann on Saturday, May 7 from 12:00-3:00 PM, where, following the service, lunch will be provided.
