Offensive tackle, Logan Reichert commits to Mizzou over Oregon

Rejoice! Four-star offensive lineman, and soon-to-be Raytown High school graduate, Logan Reichert chooses Mizzou! The Kansas City native chose to stay home after fielding offers from Michigan, Florida State, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, LSU, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, USC and others. In the end, it came down to Oregon and Missouri with Logan choosing to attend the University of Missouri.

This is another massive win for Eli Drinkwitz in the recruiting column. With the emphasis on massive. Logan Reichert is a 6’6, 350 pound offensive tackle. I am choosing to reference 247 sports (Logan Reichert Profile,) but it is worth noting some sites have Logan listed as 6’8 and 366 pounds. Either way you get it, he’s huge. Reichert is not just size. He was heavily sought after because of his fundamentals and mechanics. He can hold the line – protecting his QB, run block and push a pile.

While many fans flock to big recruits at skill positions like Luther Burden and Sam Horn, the impact of those positions mean little if you cannot block. A four-star recruit, Logan Reichert ranks 11th in the state of Missouri for all recruits, and 2nd at offensive tackle, behind only Oklahoma commit, Cayden Green. Per 247 sports

Logan Reichert demonstrates athletic superiorism by offensive lineman standards, making him more desirable. That unicorn effect is the type of skill you see in an (dare I say?) Orlando Pace-type of player. That is high praise. It is unlikely he reaches that level, however the athletic skill, strength and fundamental base are abilities and characteristics that make ordinary players extraordinary.

With Reichert committing to the University of Missouri, the Tigers secure a top 50 offensive lineman (#29,) which will look lovely next to their new shiny top 50 running back recruit, (#38) Jamal Roberts, who committed to Mizzou in early July. The Tigers currently hold three players at Junior class or lower in the running back position, so barring any transfers they will get a taste of running behind Logan Reichert. I am confident the plethora of quarterbacks competing for playing time will be equally as grateful.

Coach continues to get it done off the field. Eli Drinkwitz is closing more than REMAX. His focus on wrapping up in-state talent is deliberate, and it shows. To compete in the SEC, you need to field the best players, and this is yet another feather in his cap. Well done coach.
