The Franklin County Broadband Authority will meet in closed session today. The Snow Creek Tower is discussed. A lease assignment may be approved upon returning to the open session.
The Montgomery County School Board will meet tonight to discuss the return of students to class. The superintendent allows all students to study again in person four days a week from March 8th. The results of a questionnaire given to parents about their thoughts on the plan are presented. The plan was revealed last week, but the school board decided it needed more time to decide.
The Franklin County School Board will be holding a budget workshop tonight. The meeting was postponed compared to last week due to the weather.
The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence will be holding a hearing on the SolarWinds hack today. The hack was targeted against several federal agencies, including the ministries of finance, trade and justice. Government officials suspect that Russian hackers carried out the attack. Virginia Senator Mark Warner chairs the committee.

The Henry County Board of Supervisors and School Board will meet today to discuss the budget for schools for the next fiscal year. The two boards of directors will also discuss debt refinancing of $ 1.1 million to reduce future costs.
The Roanoke City Schools Board will hold a budget workshop today. The current proposed budget is $ 190 million, with much of the $ 9 million increase coming from government sources. The board will also be informed of the plans to reopen the school. Earlier this month, the governor of Governor Northam announced that schools must have personal options by March 15.
Lynchburg City Council will be informed of the proposed property values based on the latest assessments. The residential values are to rise by 9.3 percent, the commercial values by 2.19 percent and the industrial values by 7.2 percent. The increase in value could bring the city nearly $ 5 million more in taxes.

The Roanoke County Board of Supervisors could pass a resolution encouraging the school system to offer face-to-face learning options by March 15. The board released Governor Northam’s announcement earlier this month and the learning loss last year. The resolution encourages students in grades K-12 to attend in person at least four days a week.
Martinsville City Council will discuss redevelopment of the former BB&T on Ellsworth Street. The property would be used for both commercial and private purposes. Some city offices could move to the first floor of the facility. At the city council meeting in July, the developer said construction is expected to take around a year.
