Fourth real estate agent fired amid sexual assault allegations

A fourth real estate agent in Victoria has lost his job on sexual assault allegations posted online.

A statement from the Prime Real Estate team and Remax Island Properties states that the agent has been released from brokerage.

“Anonymous allegations have been made on social media against a broker by our agent and we can confirm that he is no longer affiliated with our company and that he abandoned his posts in response to our request for the first allegation last week. He has also given his license to us, ”wrote Susan Froher, co-owner of the brokerage firm, in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

“As a survivor, I personally know how difficult it is to report sexual violence, and I recommend that those who have spoken publicly raise the community’s awareness of an important issue.”

In the post, Froher said her team supports all victims of sexual violence and joins solidarity with the community to admonish this behavior and empower survivors.

“We all need to get involved in the process of making communities safer until there are no more victims,” ​​she said.

Allegations from two people were posted on the @survivorstoriesprojects page on Instagram. Both said they knew the man well and had detailed incidents in which they were drugged and sexually assaulted.

“I have no doubt that I was drugged and that if I had closed my eyes he would have raped me,” wrote one of the victims. “I remember being unable to move and only using my words to insult him and defend myself.”

A second victim claimed she had been with the agent for a short time and claimed she was drugged with him during one night and found naked in his bed.

“I never really thought about it that much until I told someone how it went that night and how they were doing [sic] told me, uh, this is sexual assault. It definitely didn’t feel right then, and it still doesn’t. “
