The North Port Economic Development Department’s fifth annual Real Estate Summit will be held at City Hall on May 21 from 8:30 am to 11:30 am.
This year’s focus is on commercial real estate and the dynamic outlook for North Port. The event is hybrid with personal and online options.
“North Port’s recognition as one of the fastest growing cities in the state enables us to attract major commercial and industrial developments,” said Jason Yarborough, interim city manager. “We have the workforce and the lifestyle to support this phase of growth. Commercial real estate professionals, developers, investors, commercial lenders, site voters, builders and community leaders will benefit from attending the summit. “
The first keynote speaker will be Brian Bailey, a commercial real estate expert with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. He will present the global perspective of the market. There will be a group of city officials to discuss the basics of opening a store in North Port.
Economic Development Manager Mel Thomas will present key findings from the latest feasibility study. Sarasota’s Destin Wells Economic Development Corporation will highlight the incentives available. The closing speaker will be Ron Starner, Executive Vice President of Site Selection Magazine, who is a favorite at these summits.

We are planning virtual horse races with “A Night at the Races” from 5pm to 10pm on May 22nd at the George Mullen Center, North Port. This will be a fun evening for people who enjoy horse racing, dancing and the chance to win great prizes.
The thoroughbred horse races are current productions that were recorded with five cameras. Each race includes commentary from professional circuit announcers and shows all aspects of the races.
We have casino games, buffets and drinks including adult drinks, a hat contest and lots of prizes. The cost is $ 40 per person or $ 75 per couple. Table, half-table and additional sponsorships are available. This event is open to everyone.
