Annual West Plains Chamber Caddyshack Classic a success

The West Plains Chamber of Commerce’s annual Caddyshack Classic golf tournament on Friday was truly a Chamber of Commerce Day with beautiful weather at eye level. The thirty-seven three-person scramble teams began shot gun style at the West Plains Country Club for over $ 3,000 in prizes and the chance to win a hole for a Spartan Zero Turn Mower in one fell swoop from Mega Motorsports worth $ 4,000 in 2021. Golfers began the tournament with lunch from Burton Creek Medical Clinic / Ozarks Healthcare / Westgate Realty / Simmons Bank and did warm-up exercises on the West Plains Bank & Trust Company Driving Range and Putting Green. Each golfer received a Remax Connection Tournament gift bag and an envelope containing Pinnacle Rush golf balls, provided by the Central Trust Company. Water and sports drinks were provided by Ozark’s Coca-Cola compliments.

New this year was the “Team Swing & Miss” award sponsored by Keller Williams-West Plains. Dustin Jones, Jeff Coats and Tiffany Atkisson’s team took the award with them. Jeff Welch was the big winner of the Wade Insurance-Darren Petrus Agent Bushnell Golf Speaker & Audible GPS raffle. The winner of the Quality Floors Longest Drive Competition was Evan Bryant. Ron Murray and Cathy Roberts accepted the men’s and women’s awards as “Great Rivers Distributing Closest to the Pin” champions. Bob Mayer cleaned up the “Wiles Abstract & Title Company Longest Putt” competition. There were no winners at the “Mega Motorsports 2021 Spartan RZ-C 42” Zero Turn Mower, “Callaway Irons”, “Schultz, Wood & Rapp, PC 50” 4K Ultra HD Smart TV “or” Pain Treatment Associates “Hole-In – One $ 500 Visa Gift Card Contests. The annual fundraiser for the Caddyshack tournament complements membership fees to support chamber programs and seminars, member benefits, economic development initiatives, and community events for the city. Chamber Director Jessica Collins commended the Caddyshack tournament volunteers, Justin Jones, Louise Jones, Mallory Snodgras, Shealia Harper, Ann Marie Newberry, Eryn Walters, Joanne White, Jeannie Cox and Kate Tyree for the hard work and dedication of the volunteers, and our volunteers are really coming through for us this year.
