Bulls vs Lions match postponed – Germiston City News
The Castle Lager Lions Series game of the British and Irish Lions against the Vodacom Bulls on July 10 has been postponed to reschedule or accommodate an alternate opponent while the Springboks’ second Test against Georgia on Friday is also under review.
Four Bulls players and a member of management returned positive tests which, when combined with their close contacts, made it impossible for them to team up according to a number of safety protocols.
The series regulations stipulate that additional games will be added in the middle of the week by agreement between the organizations.

In the meantime, four positive results with the Georgian team and four further positive tests with Springbok players, including Marvin Orie, Frans Steyn, Handre Pollard and Frans Malherbe, as well as six in management, including head coach Jacques Nienaber, and a masseuse have made planning even more difficult.
The latest medical data from the Springboks and Georgian teams will be evaluated by the Medical Advisory Group (MAG) on Wednesday morning (July 7th).
“These positive results are a setback and have highlighted the risk of portability of the Delta variant,” said Jurie Roux, CEO of SA Rugby.
“The Springboks Second Test against Georgia is now seriously in question, but we will wait for the MAG to take the data into account and we will make the final decision tomorrow.
“The priority is to maintain the integrity of the test suite, and that is what we will continue to focus on.”
An update on possible alternative opponents for the Lions and the second Test of the Springboks against Georgia will be released as soon as the positions are determined.
The match of the British & Irish Lions against the Cell C Sharks at Emirates Airline Park on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. (6:00 p.m. BST) will take place as planned.
