Re/Max Quinte kicks in large gift to PECMHF’s Back the Build campaign

The Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Back the Build campaign for a new Picton hospital received another big boost on Friday.
Outside Re / Max Quinte’s new offices on Loyalist Parkway in Picton, PECMHF officials announced that Re / Max Quinte’s group had exceeded their initial fundraising goal of $ 250,000 for a total of $ 354,261.
Re / Max began fundraising in 2000 with a goal of $ 98,600. Since exceeding that number, they have continued to raise the target. In 2014, the group raised the target to $ 250,000.
Tim McKinney tells Quinte News that the annual Teeing Up Fore Health Care golf tournament and the generosity of the Re / Max agents are the big fundraisers.

“First and foremost, we have done this golf tournament for the past six years. It usually happens in June but this year we happened to move it to September but it sells out every year and we get great event sponsors and support so it’s a big part of it. Plus, any agent can voluntarily donate part of their transaction, which makes a big difference when you develop that team spirit in an office to support a good local cause. “
The golf tournament in September is firmly booked and has a waiting list.
The funds from this year’s golf tournament are to be used to replace the ultrasound device that will be installed in the old hospital and, after completion, will be moved to the new one.
According to representatives of the PECMHF, 2,234 patients required the use of the ultrasound device in 2020 and the current device has exceeded its recommended service life of three years.
The new ultrasound machine will cost $ 184,931.
