Send a Scout to Camp car show Aug. 14
At the Hot August Nights Poker Run in Minden on Thursday, vintage cars line up along Esmeralda Avenue. Vehicle-related events will continue this week on Friday and Saturday.

Boy Scout Troop 33 and Troop 20 are hosting the 7th annual Send a Scout to Camp Car Show 10am to 3pm on August 14th at Fuji Park.
Participants can register or log in on the day of the show.
“We would be happy to receive early registrations,” said organizer John Hefner.

As the event is outside, no masks are required, although the organizers have asked anyone who feels sick to stay at home.
“We remain confident that we can hold a safe event and protect the scouts and participants,” said Hefner. “We have some great auction items ranging from broadcast services, dinners, and hotel packages to massages. The audience is encouraged to come to the show and see all the beautiful cars and bid on the items. ”
All proceeds from this event will be used to send a scout to the camp. Troop 33 Boy Scouts recently visited Camp Meriweather, Oregon, and Troop 20 Boy Scouts attended summer camp at Camp Fleischmann, California. This show enabled Scouts to earn the Triple Crown award which consists of attending three high adventure camps in their Scouting experience. These included hiking in Philmont, New Mexico, sailing in Seabase in Florida, and canoeing in Northern Tier in Canada
“For many scouts, such a trip would not have been possible without the generous help of these companies and all participants in past auto shows with over 125 participants,” said Hefner. “The scouts and parents of Troop 33 are very grateful that we have such a supportive community.”
Auctions are at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The trophies will be awarded at 3 p.m.
