Child & Family to host Purple Palooza 5K Walk to End Domestic Violence

Child & Family Center is proud to present the Purple Palooza 5K Walk to End Domestic Violence on Saturday, October 16, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the center’s main building, 21545 Center Pointe Parkway. Funds raised will support the center’s domestic violence program, which provides security, shelter and support to domestic violence survivors as it works to break the cycle of abuse and build healthy relationships.

There are plenty of fun family activities scheduled before and after the walk, including live music by the local band Sierra Highway, BBQ courtesy of SCV Rotary, Kona Ice, crafts, sponsor booths, messages of hope, purple hair dye, face painting, honor bracelet, and more.

They can be dusted with purple powder during the 5km route, which is easy and pet friendly for all ages including kids. Your furry friend is welcome to take a walk, and there will be stalls sponsored by local pet businesses.

Registration starts at $ 35, which includes a continental breakfast and a Walker’s Bag. Upgrade to Deluxe for $ 60 for an event t-shirt and finisher medal. Children ages 4-12 are $ 15. You can participate virtually for $ 25. You can also make a donation to support a hiker or fundraising team. Volunteers are also wanted at the event location and at rest areas along the route.
