Stephen Still wax

Marion, NC –

Stephen, 77, of Marion, NC, formerly Fair Lawn, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2021. Before retiring, Stephen was an agent for ReMax at Fair Lawn.

Loving father of Eric Thomas and Jamie Stillwachs. Dear brother of Marjorie Klein and Sheryl Donner. Dear Grandfather of Daisy Stillwax, Madison Thomas Reyes and Adriana Thomas Reyes. Previously deceased of his brothers Otto, Thomas and Ronald Stillwachs.

Steve served in the National Guard in the 1960s, a tumultuous time in the country when he was sometimes uncomfortable with American compatriots. His little sister “Sheri” remembers how he let his boots “shine with spit” – for a quarter at a time – before he left for his regular assignments. Steve was an independent business owner for most of his life until he semi-retired and moved to real estate, where he loved helping others find their happy homes. A side effect of his work was the opportunity to acquire old music box owners who were no longer wanted. He was proud of his collection and his restoration work!

He was the perfect tinkerer, whether he was renovating his basement at home, working on his boat or repairing his car. He and his own band of brothers spent hours in the family’s garage building driving go-karts as teenagers. He voiced his dismay at today’s technology-powered cars that are preventing him from having the pleasure of doing his own repairs.

Steve was an enormously proud father to Eric and Jamie. He cherished the time with his three granddaughters and was always a supportive, loving brother to his sisters. He was loved deeply and is greatly missed. We like to think that he will be reunited with his brothers, keeping a vigilant eye on all of their beloved families.

Family welcomes friends on Saturday, November 13, 2021, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Vander Plaat Memorial Home 113 South Farview Avenue, Paramus, NJ. The burial takes place in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ
