“We, as a chamber, always want to recognize the efforts and accomplishments of local businesses. It can be a positive and motivating experience, to not only the nominees but other businesses as well, to see our business community thrive,” says the Board of Directors and staff of the Peace River and District Chamber of Commerce.
There’s history with the award. Henry Fuller Davis made his fortune in the 1800’s from mining and fur trading. A businessman in the Peace River region, he was known for qualities such as kindness, friendliness, fairness, and a good sense of business.
“In a tribute to one of the pioneer entrepreneurs of our area we celebrate our local business community in his honor,” says the chamber.
Over the last 111 years, the chamber and its membership have been essential in the formation of the region.

The President’s Award is given to a business originally owned and part of the chamber for 20 years or more. “The recipient is known for their outstanding service, success in business and continued commitment to the betterment of our community.”
