HOUSTON, TX, UNITED STATES, Dec. 7, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ – A Thanksgiving feast of turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, vegetables, rice, and ham was served with a smile outdoors in downtown Houston. Many souls in need have been nourished thanks to the Hoodies4Healing Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) organization that operates under the direction of founder Rose Mary Tucker. The sumptuous food was carefully and lovingly served by Betty Jean’s Creole Cuisine Grille. In addition to providing physical nourishment to the crowds, Rose Mary and her team showed kindness and compassion to each dish.
The underprivileged population in Houston and neighboring counties is huge and growing. Between 250-300 starving and homeless people were fed in one day. Men, women, and children stood in line, waiting for a warm plate of food and a word of encouragement. Volunteers who faithfully come every Sunday had hearts to serve. Some were homeless in their own lives and wanted to help others. This dedicated army of doers reflected biblical principles in feeding the hungry and helping lift the oppressed.
Successful businessman Ige Johnson and Remax Generation put their shoulders behind the wheel and partnered with Hoodies4Healing to make this event a success. Lots of hands make easy work.
