Camel boys lose 65-45, girls fall 57-48 to start Power2Play tourney | Local

The boys and girls’ basketball teams at Campbell County High School started the Power2Play tournament with losses on Thursday night in Windsor, Colorado.

The Camel boys lost to Severance 65-45 while the girls lost 57-48 to Lutherans.

In the boys’ category, the newcomer Rylan Robertson led the team with 12 points out of four 3-point points. Senior Logan Dymond finished with eight points and Senior Austin Crimm with seven points.

The boys drop to 2-2 this season after losing 2-1 at the REMAX / Gillette Invite last weekend. CCHS will return to the field on Friday for another tough challenge.

The Camel Boys play Fossil Ridge in their home gym on Friday at 6:00 p.m. Fossil Ridge is the number three team in Colorado, said CCHS trainer Bubba Hladky.

During the Camel Girls’ defeat, Junior Madison Robertson led the team with 12 points, followed by Junior Millie Riss with 10 and Junior Julia Sarvey with nine. Freshman Lauren Kuhbacher picked up six rebounds and senior Maddie Jacobson ended up with five.

Freshman point guard Erika Martinez ended with three assists.

The Campbell County girls will be playing overland at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
