Bolts boys, girls both starting Flaming Gorge tourney with wins | Local

The boys ‘and girls’ basketball teams at Thunder Basin High School both started the Flaming Gorge Tournament with wins on Thursday night in Rock Springs and Green River.

The boys beat Riverton 64-48 on Green River while the girls beat Rock Springs 60-32 on their home court.

In the boys’ category, Senior Deegan Williams led the team with 17 points, followed by Senior McKale Holte with 15, Junior Kayden LaFramboise with 10, Senior Ryan Baker with nine and Second year Bodie Williams with seven.

The Bolts Boys (2-1) are number 1 on the WyoPrep.com basketball rankings for both coaches and media boys. The boys will play Lyman on Friday at 1pm.

The Thunder Basin Girls had a big catch-up game against Rock Springs after kicking off Season 1-2 during the REMAX / Gillette Invite last weekend.

Junior Joelie Spelts led the team with 18 points, followed by Junior Laney McCarty with 17 and Second year Attie Westbrook with eight.

The Bolts girls will return to the court at 2:40 pm on Friday to play Star Valley.
