THE NURSING INDUSTRY

As the pandemic continues to rage around the world, it is no surprise that health workers are in demand in the “care industry”.

Australia will continue to battle the ongoing psychological impact of a year of social isolation and lockdown in 2021, pushing governments to invest more in the mental health sector, creating a real need for specialists, support workers and social workers.

Nurses, paramedics and doctors are desperately needed as the Australian health system grows to respond to the demands of an aging population. LinkedIn said incentives for more people to study nursing would likely continue this trend for some time.

Allied health professionals and medical support workers are vital to complement the frontline medical professionals. This reflects a boom in job vacancies for occupational therapists, household helpers and physiotherapists.

Mr Kumar said there was a great need for qualified health workers following COVID-19.

“There is no doubt that 2020 was a challenging year. Between lockdowns and isolation, Australia never needed caregivers to help individuals and communities rebuild, ”he said.

“We can see that Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane are the most in demand for mental health specialists and frontline workers like doctors and nurses, while Sydney, Melbourne, social workers and health care workers like physical therapists and occupational therapists are most in demand and Perth . “

In order to promote future care workers and to keep up with the growing population, the roles in the education sector must be filled. Early childhood educators are in demand and the sector is growing rapidly. The number of employees in the region is expected to increase from 42,300 in 2019 to 49,100 by 2024.

REBUILDING THE ECONOMY

As the country bounces back on its feet after a year of economic turmoil, governments invested billions of dollars in new projects, which resulted in people being forced to fill core jobs.

Mr Kumar said there are many opportunities for job seekers to implement transferable skills to get into the industry.

“With the booming real estate market, roles in real estate and construction are quickly being hired. The good thing about these disciplines is that they don’t always require a university degree, ”said Kumar.

“Many construction workers have completed training that is largely government subsidized and means that you can work at TAFE while you are studying.

“Real estate agents don’t require a degree either, although you should consider ways of demonstrating transferable skills in sales strategy and good communication skills.”

Customer service reps are often at the forefront for many businesses when trying to navigate significant disruptions. During the pandemic, hospitality and tourism workers were able to use their interpersonal and communication skills to fill some of the roles. However, Mr. Kumar said there were many more vacancies.

MOVING DIGITAL

The retail trade is Australia’s second largest employer. One in ten Australian workers is employed in commerce.

COVID-19 has annoyed brick and mortar retail significantly, but many stores have been able to adapt through online use. As a result, there are a variety of vacancies in the industry in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, from delivery roles that don’t require a formal qualification to online specialists.

In 2020, the ability to communicate with customers through social media became even more important as personal engagement had a huge impact. The top titles in the industry include growth hackers, content designers, search engine optimization specialists, social media marketing managers and growth specialists.

Mr. Kumar said the roles served the needs of everyday Australians who have become accustomed to a new way of life.

“We have seen such growth in e-commerce, so social media marketing roles have been very important for businesses to meet the needs of customers who are increasingly shopping online,” he said.

The report also found that in the digital age, content was king and the demand for it was “insatiable”. LinkedIn saw a sharp surge in content in 2020, not just on social media, but also in podcasting, where sales dropped to $ 47 million. Therefore bloggers, podcasters, authors, copywriters and content coordinators are in demand.

The demand for digital specialized technical functions has continued in 2020 as the industry continues to introduce new technologies. From the back-end developer to the data manager, companies are rushing to fill people who can deploy working websites and keep them online.
