UPMC sells mansion to real estate firm

The construction company Inch & Co. is now in the real estate business.

And Inch & Co. Real Estate recently acquired properties for a new home for the company – Elmwood Mansion at 400 Elmwood Blvd. in the Spring Garden Ward, York County.

The real estate division founded at the beginning of this year offers commercial and private real estate services.

Inch & Co.’s Gray Apple Design is currently renovating the property. Inch & Co. Real Estate plans to open the new office next month. The mansion was purchased by the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. The 6,500 square foot converted office property, which sits on 2.53 acres, was purchased on December 30th. Robin Zellers, Amber Corbo and Casey Khuri from NAI CIR represented the seller in the actual Restate transaction.

The manor house was built in 1835, moved to its current location in 1905 and extensively renovated in 1987. The three-story mansion was built by Jacob Brillinger. The mansion has five bathrooms, eight fireplaces, a full kitchen, and an apartment with a bedroom, a full bath, and a kitchenette. The porch surrounds three sides of the building and a balcony on the second floor. The property includes 35 parking spaces, two entrances and a detached gatehouse.

The mansion has been used as a conference center and living space for temporary medical staff at the UPMC Pinnacle Memorial in recent years. UPMC Pinnacle launched the mansion back in 2018 when UPMC Pinnacle Memorial Hospital was planning to move to its current location in West Manchester Township.
