Whether or not Matt Dunstone can make Sunday’s playoffs at the Tim Hortons Brier in a Calgary bubble will likely not be known until the end of Saturday’s game as it’s very tight at the top. After losing to Wild Card 3 that afternoon, skipped by Wayne Middaugh, Dunstone and his rink, which represented the Wadena Remax Curling Club, knocked out Alberta’s Brendan Bottcher 7-3 in the evening draw

Kevin Koes Wild Card 2 Rink and Howard are both 8-2, followed by Dunstone, Ontario’s John Epping, Bottcher and Brad Gushue from Team Canada, all sitting 7-3.

Dunstone will meet Brad Jacobs of Northern Ontario and Jason Gunnlaugson of Manitoba to complete the championship pool game. Both ice rinks are 6-4 after the game on Friday.

The top 3 move into the playoffs, with the top team going through to the final on Sunday evening.
