AB Real Estate Forum: Property is back

The UAE’s real estate sector is booming as the backlog in real estate purchases is combined with favorable market conditions and the country’s reputation for dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.

According to DFSA-regulated real estate investment and technology platform SmartCrowd, Dubai’s real estate market bottomed out last November and the first six months of 2021 confirmed a V-shaped recovery for the industry.

But, is this really the truth? Every quarter we receive tons of reports from real estate experts analyzing the latest industry statistics – real estate price increases, rent decreases, apartment-to-villa relocations, popular areas, lack of ultra-luxury.

Arabian Business will leverage this knowledge and expertise in the next edition of its series of live events – the AB Real Estate Forum – taking place on September 20th at the JW Marriott Marquis game within the industry.

Panel one gives an overview of the current market. Dubai’s prime and super-prime residential real estate markets continued on an impressive upward trend through the first half of 2021, with both local and global buyers continuing to see Dubai’s appeal for luxury real estate investment. Where is the Dubai real estate market headed?

The Industry View in panel two will deal with how the real estate industry had to make its product range innovative and differentiated. How has this worked in creating sustainable growth and stability for the sector? What are the fresh ideas that are transforming the industry from the inside out and are there niches of unexplored growth waiting to be discovered?

In panel three, we will go into great detail on investment and financing options. Whichever country you are in, buying a property in that country is often the largest investment many people make. So how do you do this right? Where is hot, where is there leeway to maximize your investment, and where are the pitfalls to avoid? And how to finance it, what to look for when securing a mortgage.

Finally, the fourth and final panel of the event will cover the commercial real estate sector. The pandemic has led to hyperdigitization and companies have had to rethink their commercial real estate plans, including office space and retail stores. How did the industry react to these challenges? What knowledge do we have about future customer requirements, are hybrid and shared commercial properties becoming the new normal?

As always, we are accompanied by a panel of thought leaders and experts to discuss all of these topics and more.
