The Rotary Club of Top of the Lake-Mooresville announced the winners for the Rotary year 2020-2021, which ended June 30, and introduced its new board of directors for the Rotary year 2021-2022.
The Rotary Club of Top of the Lake-Mooresville closed the 2020/21 Rotary year by recognizing each member who has done outstanding service to the club this year.
Club President Ben Baker, owner of BrandSpeed, presented two dedicated Rotarians Presidents Awards: Maj. General (retired) Mel Spiese served on the board of directors, directing fundraising for the clubs’ major golf tournaments and organizing general meetings; Sue Robertson, a Realtor at Remax Executives, served on the club’s board as Sergeant of Arms and did an excellent job of organizing the weekly guest speakers.
“Zooming out on the club’s meetings and participating in a personal fundraiser in October gave these key leaders an opportunity to truly showcase their leadership skills during the challenging times we all went through last year,” said Baker.

Baker also presented the International Service Award to Deborah Bowen, EFC Builders co-owner and committee chair. The Rookie of the Year award went to a new member, Paul Spencer, satellite club co-chair and financial services provider at Trivent Financial.
Baker himself was recognized by club members as Rotarian of the Year and Distinguished Rotarian of the club, a district Rotary award presented at the annual district conference in May.
