BrainBox AI and WattTime Announce Partnership to Significantly Reduce CO2 Emissions Produced by Commercial Real Estate Properties
MONTREAL & OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA – (BUSINESS WIRE) – BrainBox AI, a pioneer in autonomous building technology, today announced a partnership with WattTime, a nonprofit environmental technology that enables people and organizations to reduce emissions and use cleaner energy. This partnership will result in greater energy and carbon savings in commercial real estate across North America. A flagship project with the Great Lakes Protection Fund will similarly leverage joint technology solutions to reduce mercury emissions across the Great Lakes watershed.
BrainBox AI is the world’s first fully autonomous technology for artificial intelligence (AI) for heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. BrainBox AI technology continuously makes real-time micro-adjustments to a building’s existing HVAC system based on the monitoring of a large number of internal and external data points. Additionally, WattTime invented Automated Emissions Reduction (VRE), software that enables IoT devices such as smart thermostats and electric vehicles to easily and automatically run on clean energy. The VRE signal enables smart devices – including commercial building energy management systems – to postpone the timing of flexible energy consumption to synchronize with times of clean energy (e.g. wind or sun) and times of dirtier energy (e.g. coal) avoid.
BrainBox AI integrates WattTime’s dynamic limit emissions signal into its AI data toolkit to improve its model’s insights into ways to reduce CO2 and mercury emissions and enable continuous optimization to further reduce a building’s ecological footprint. The WattTime technology “charges” the ecological advantages of BrainBox AI and offers an additional emission reduction potential of up to 15% that goes beyond the baseline.
