Have you heard of Clubhouse?

It’s the newest, hottest social media site out there. And everyone’s talking about it this month.

The New York Times NYT wrote about it on February 15th. Likewise the British Guardian UG. Bloomberg reported about it on February 16. And Rolling Stone raised the issue on February 17th.

But since PCMag beat them by two weeks and posted an extensive story about it on February 2nd, let’s move on to the description.

“This audio-only invitation-only iPhone app is like listening to someone else’s call legally,” says longtime tech writer Eric Griffith. “Here’s what you need to know about Clubhouse, including how Elon Musk is contributing to its recent upsurge.”

He continues with:

“Here’s the key: Imagine you have an app on your phone that lets you overhear other people’s conversations live. But not scary. These people want to be heard. They can even be famous, or at least interesting, or knowledgeable (but no guarantee). And you may have the opportunity to join the chat.

“Think of it as an audio social chat network. Or as PCMag’s Jordan Minor says in our review, “What if Twitter was a podcast that you lived on?”

Fascinated? If you don’t, then you should reconsider, especially if you are interested in business networks or increasing your profitability potential.

I only got on this a few weeks ago boy but am I impressed so far! It has already paid off in droves and connected me to some extraordinary entrepreneurs. Like Beth Azor.

Let me tell you something about her. Who knows, you might even do a search for them on LinkedIn before finishing this article …

Welcome to the clubhouse. Step this way for Space Tank …

What can I say about Beth Azor? A lot, but let’s start with how she owns six malls in South Florida.

And unless you feel bad about being in this industry these days, don’t do it. This woman doesn’t just mean business; She knows how to do business with the best, regardless.

In fact, her other job – teaching malls how to fill vacancies – is better than ever.

While working with well-known brands and well-known retail property owners, she’s the first to admit that she’s “a great mom and pop promoter.” To understand the value and for the little guy, it makes sense how it got into the only clubhouse app that was so well known late last year.

Beth just isn’t afraid to take a risk when the odds are in her favor.

Once turned on, she was in “room” after “room,” having conversations and making connections … until that day in 2021 she was in a shark tank group. With that we’re talking about something actually related to the show, considering how two sharks put it on:

· Barbara Corcoran

· Daymond John.

They allowed people to face them and, just like on the show, asked powerful questions. It was a fascinating platform for her, it worked really well, and it gave Beth an idea.

What if she created her own room for retailers to showcase to commercial real estate rental companies?

This is how Space Tank began and there have already been two successful runs that gave companies the opportunity to convince well-known companies Simon Property Group
SPG (SPG) and Tangier Factory Outlet Center
SKT (SKT), to name just two – and small landlords alike to offer them 90-day retail space.

Free.

What concept, right?

Who needs penthouse access with these clubhouse offers?

“What’s the catch?”

That is the question that Beth has heard several times when promoting her space tank idea.

But there really isn’t any. If this is selected, companies will have to pay for their own insurance and utility bills and use the space as it is. That’s it.

Really. If these temporary tenants don’t think the opportunity is worthwhile at the end of the 90 days, they can simply say, “See you soon!”

The goal of retail landlords, of course, is for them to stay and sign a traditional contract. That is why they primarily offer the possibility.

However, there is no legal or other pressure. This is why so many small and medium-sized businesses are hungry to try it out.

On the commercial property side, this concept has the potential to have a huge impact on struggling malls and even malls.

Beth has already hosted two successful clubhouse events with overwhelming success. Initially, a person received offers from six different landlords to use their space. In the second – which only took place on February 18 – up to 74 landlords were represented.

And you’d better believe she’s already thinking about round 3.

Only profit potential in sight

Before you ask, no. Not all of the landlords who accepted Beth’s offer were Florida residents or wanted to fill Florida-specific space.

Everyone knows Florida is open to business and has been for a while. This may worry some health officials, but it makes companies and their employees very, very happy overall.

So you’d expect a concept like Space Tank to at least work decently down there.

To be sure, it is. But Beth assured me that this is a nationwide event that is attended by people all over the map.

While I can’t guarantee this will be the case for the second call, Covid-19 or the pandemic was not even mentioned during the first event. It was business as usual – just in a totally innovative way.

Would you like to start the next innovation round? It’s scheduled for March 4th at 7:30 am EST, and you can connect with Beth on LinkedIn for the details.

But maybe you want to prepare now, and not just for your perfect spot. There are a few other things you need to know about clubhouse …

For example, that in addition to being an iPhone app, you also need an invitation. It’s an association after all.

Also, if you know someone who can send you an invite, you should have an Instagram or Twitter account. Because you cannot automatically speak in someone else’s room. And there is no instant messaging included.

Instead, you will be given a profile area where you can list your Instagram and / or Twitter links. And people can reach you that way.

In my opinion and based on my previous experience, this little effort is worth it. I am already a great believer.

As I find out every other day, there are many real estate opportunities in the clubhouse. And like Beth Azor, I definitely plan to go through the right ones wherever I can.

I own shares in SPG and SKT.
