Commercial real estate firm expands team, property management portfolio

A Wilmington-based commercial real estate company expands its real estate management business and team with the hiring of a local industry veteran.

Cape Fear Commercial (CFC) announced Tuesday the addition of Hae Ellis, who will join the company as senior vice president and bring over 30 years of real estate experience, according to a press release.

According to the press release, Ellis will continue to oversee its nearly 500,000 square foot management portfolio as it moves onto CFC’s property management team, bringing the company closer to its goal of managing 4 million square feet by the end of the year.

In addition, they will concentrate more on sales and leasing, according to the announcement.

“I am excited about the opportunities this move will offer my customers and me,” said Ellis in the press release. “CFC has built a world class team of professionals that I can only hope to improve.”

Ellis’ inclusion comes at a time when the company is expanding its presence and activities in the local market, the press release said. According to the press release, she is one of five new brokers and three industry veterans to join CFC’s brokerage team since May 2019.

“As one of the top brokers in our market, Hae is a welcome addition to CFC,” said CFC partner Brian Eckel in the press release. “She has been a dominant force in the Class A office for 20 years and has tremendous potential in the investment sales market.”

Prior to joining Cape Fear Commercial, Ellis was Principal and Leading Broker at Commonwealth Commercial Properties, based in Wilmington.

Ellis is from Richmond, Virginia and graduated from the University of Virginia at Charlottesville. She began her commercial real estate career in 1990 with Morton G. Thalhimer Inc. and continued working in the Washington, DC area at Chevy Chase Bank until she moved to Wilmington.
