First victim struck in parade testifies in Parade tragedy trial

MONDAY PROSECUTORS CONTINUED TO BUILD THEIR CASE. TRYING TO ELIMINATE ANY DOUBT FOR JURORS THAT DARRELL BROOKS WAS BEHIND THE WHEEL AND THAT HE NEVER ONCE STOPPED TO CHECK ON VICTIMS. First victim struck testifies in Waukesha parade tragedy trial

Nicole White was walking with her parade float when she was struck from behind by an SUV.

Nicole White was walking with her Remax parade float on November 21, 2021 when she was struck from behind by an SUV.”I just remember being struck from behind, my back, I fell to my knees, to roll under vehicle,” said White .White was the first person struck along the parade route on Main Street. She was among 60 others who were injured. Prosecutors say Darrell Brooks was behind the wheel. They called a number of police officers and witnesses to testify and to leave zero doubt for jurors that Brooks was the driver.White testified she never heard a horn honk before she was struck, saying it left her with multiple injuries.”It was very chaotic There was, like, a group that, like, came to me and, like, helped me over to the side of the road,” said White. Thomas Greene took his 3 kids to the parade that day. He took the stand late Monday telling jurors his two children, ages 9 and 11 were struck after the SUV plowed into the Waukesha South marching band.”Heard a loud crash noise to my right, looked that way, seen a car, running over the marching band, swerved toward me and my family, proceeded on down the parade route,” said Greene. Prosecutors expect to wrap their case by the end of the week. Brooks would then begin to call witnesses to the stand.
