Fundraising campaign started for South Lake Tahoe with brain tumor | South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, California – Fundraiser is ongoing for a South Lake Tahoe woman about to have surgery and recovery from a brain tumor. Two weeks ago, after long ignoring symptoms, Heidi Munnecke had an MRI that she had written off because of stress.

The MRI showed a meningioma and met with Dr. Yu at Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and they decided to have surgery to remove the tumor, which was successfully performed on July 21st.

Heidi is known to many as a real estate agent, first with Century 21 and now with ReMax, which specializes in real estate in South Lake Tahoe and the American River Canyon.

It will take time for her to relax in Los Angeles, to be at sea level and to allow enough time to rest and relax.

Her friend Jill Sanders created a Go Fund Me page to help Heidi with upcoming issues.

You’d think this is enough to face as a single mother, but unfortunately the story continues.

Heidi’s daughter was also diagnosed with a brain injury. She is 12 years old and needs to do a variety of tests, dye contrast MRIs, EEGs, sleep studies, blood tests while she goes to school and her mother is recovering from brain surgery.

“Heidi had to be given medical leave and, as many of you know, there is no salary as a self-employed contractor. So here we are humbly asking for help through a GoFund Me, ”said Jill on the fundraising website. “The cost of her surgery and recovery will exceed her savings. She is insured, but many costs are still overpriced.”

Costs in addition to any medical / surgical costs include temporary relocation, homeschooling, tutors, groceries, mortgages, and pet care.
