Greensburg home sale prices up nearly 45 percent | Local News

DECATUR COUNTY – According to a recent FC Tucker report, Decatur County has experienced the highest increase in year-to-date home sale prices at 44.8% since February 2021, and home sales and prices continue to climb.

“I think Decatur County offers something other cities don’t which is a big city within a small town,” said Greensburg Remax associate Tanner Leisure. “When a house goes on the market lately, there are a lot of people wanting it so it often goes for a higher price.”

The report showed an average sale price of $237,061 in Decatur County since February 2021, representing the 44.8% increase.

The average sales price for homes throughout the 16-county Central Indiana region came in even higher at $287,752, which was a 12.7% YTD increase.

Decatur County saw a 7.4% decrease in homes sold in February 2022 compared to the same month the previous year. Additionally, housing inventory increased by 36.4%.

“Decatur County continues to see an active residential real estate market,” said Account Director Kalyn Long.
