Honeywell, SAP Launch Connected Buildings Solution To Help Operators Make Smarter Real Estate Decisions
ATLANTA, May 19, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Honeywell (Nasdaq: HON) today announced the launch of a cloud-based solution that streamlines and combines operational and business data for building owners and managers to make better decisions, improve efficiency, and meet sustainability goals. The new solution, Honeywell Forge Real Estate Operations, extends the functions of Honeywell Forge’s enterprise performance management software and was developed together with SAP on the SAP Business Technology Platform.
Honeywell Forge Real Estate Operations is a turnkey cloud-based analytics application. The SaaS solution aggregates the financial, employee and real estate data from SAP with the building data from Honeywell, the IoT sensor data and the findings of the building management system. Owners, managers and operators of real estate portfolios can use actionable insights from the software to optimize their real estate performance in multiple dimensions of building performance. The data is presented to users in a simple, easily digestible scorecard.
“To date, real estate portfolio managers have often had to go through a fragmented set of disjointed data about their buildings, which has created significant inefficiencies,” he said Usman Shuja, Vice President and General Manager of Connected Buildings for Honeywell. “Honeywell’s partnership with SAP has resulted in a solution that brings together IT data, OT data and occupant information, giving customers new insight into the performance of their real estate portfolios.”
“We have provided feedback on the Honeywell Forge Real Estate Operations product throughout its development and believe that it has significant potential to help real estate companies improve portfolio performance in multiple dimensions,” he said Matthias Grimm, Vice President-Head for Global Real Estate and Facilities at SAP. “We also manage Honeywell Forge as part of the planning process for our own internal real estate transformation.”
Honeywell Forge’s real estate operations can help improve:
- Operational readiness. The solution quickly provides users with information about the availability of critical assets, the number of open service cases and the corresponding capital and operating costs.
- Occupant safety. Users can gain insight into compliance with safety practices, including limits for indoor air quality and capacity.
- Sustainability. The solution provides real-time insight into energy consumption metrics so companies can track their sustainability goals.
- Financial intelligence. By combining OT and IT data, users get a comprehensive picture of the overall financial health of their entire building portfolio to understand underperforming locations and identify financial trends. The solution also closely monitors the financial impact of operational investments.
- Inmate experience. The solution enables building managers to maintain a comfortable environment for residents.
- Occupant utilization. Honeywell Forge Real Estate Operations helps visualize building usage, including its impact on the operational and financial performance of buildings.
Honeywell Forge Real Estate Operations complements Honeywell’s extensive and growing software offering for home builders and property managers. Honeywell acquired at the end of last year Adelaide, Australia-based Sinus, a mobile software solution that offers a simple, intuitive way of securely integrating and tracking the flow of people in a building. With this new feature, Honeywell provides a more seamless experience for residents and further enhances the connected building experience for visitors, guests and staff. The new functionality expands Honeywell’s portfolio of native, data-driven edge-to-cloud architectures with user-friendly mobile interfaces with which processes can be further digitally transformed.
“The commercial real estate market is rapidly evolving into a smooth experience that is in large part accelerated by planning to return to the location,” Shuja said. “The combination of optimizing real estate performance and a mobile user experience offers our customers a range of powerful solutions to digitally transform and adapt to these new dynamics. With our growing solutions, Honeywell helps customers meet the changing needs of today’s office managers and employees, including Security and compliance requirements. “
