Hot air balloonist visits St. Agnes | Local News

AVON – Students at St. Agnes School, 60 Park Place, were flying high when Balloons Over Letchworth sponsored by Remax stopped by Nov. 15 to give a presentation on hot air balloons.

Pilot Lee presented a program to the students about hot air balloons and then the students were able to go inside a balloon in the gym. Afterwards, students assembled in front of St. Agnes School to see the balloon’s basket and the burners in action – with flames shooting many feet into the air.

St Agnes School officials thanked Carroll Teitsworth, Remax, Liberty Balloon Company and Balloons Over Letchworth for “the amazing presentation.”

In October, students participated in the annual pet blessing to celebrate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. The event includes a visit by the Livingston County Mounted Patrol and a K9 unit.

Other included fire safety programs with the East Avon Fire Department, a “Go Pink Day” to raise money for breast cancer awareness, a walk-a-thon to promote healthy lifestyles as part of “Red Ribbon Week” activities, and a Halloween trunk or treat and parade.
