Julia White, Microsoft corporate vice president of product marketing for Azure, developer tools, and servers, is leaving to join SAP. White becomes SAP’s Chief Marketing and Solutions Officer and a member of the Executive Board. SAP announced White’s new role alongside the appointment of Scott Russell to the Executive Board who was President of SAP Asia Pacific Japan and APJ.

White has been with Microsoft for almost 20 years. She started as a product manager in the Windows Server department and later joined the office department as general manager. People outside of Microsoft may best recognize them by their demos at Microsoft events. White has featured at several Microsoft events over the years, including the announcement of HoloLens 2 and Azure Kinect DK.

White has been responsible for marketing Microsoft Azure for the past five years.

According to ZDNet, who spoke to a Microsoft spokesman, Microsoft will be conducting an internal and external search for White’s replacement. Azure Vice President John “JG” Chirapurath will become the interim marketing director for Azure until a replacement is found.

White’s move to SAP is Microsoft’s second notable departure this week. Earlier this week, Brad Anderson announced that he would be leaving Microsoft after over 17 years. Anderson becomes president of products and services for Qualtrics, a SAP company.
