Local animal rescue teams up with FGCU for scholarship

LEE COUNTY, Florida – A local animal rescue team works with Florida Gulf Coast University to offer a scholarship to advance a career in veterinary medicine.

Jan Rich started For the Love of Cats on Marco Island in 2002.

Their goal is to end the cruelty of pet overpopulation through neutering and neutering and to help low-income families with veterinary care. The For the Love of Cats Scholarship is a new and unique opportunity for FGCU students.

The generous scholarship covers almost half of a student’s entire academic year.

It will be hosted by Bobbie Confer of Remax Realty on Marco Island, Dr. Jon Strohmeyer from the Facial Plastic Surgery Center and Dr. Cindy Strohmeyer funded by Dermatology Specialists of Naples.
