Mandelbaum Barrett Appoints Real Estate Practice Group Co-Chair

Mandelbaum Barrett PC has announced that Craig W. Alexander, Esq. was appointed co-chair of the firm’s real estate practice. He will work closely with Barry R. Mandelbaum, vice chairman of Real Estate, who is also chairman of the full-service law firm.
Since joining the firm in 1995, Alexander has focused his practice on real estate and commercial lending. He represents developers, builders, investors, commercial real estate owners, contractors and lenders at all stages of real estate transactions. He also appears before planning and zoning authorities in connection with land development and property improvements.
“This appointment recognizes Alexander’s work ethic, his dedication to the company and his long-standing service to his clients. He has the managerial and legal talent to ensure the continued growth of our department and our firm. I look forward to working with him to continue growing the practice,” said Mandelbaum.
As Barry Mandelbaum’s stepson, Alexander represents the third generation of the firm and reflects many of the long-standing, multi-generational client relationships at Mandelbaum Barrett since it was founded by Irving Mandelbaum, Barry’s father, over 90 years ago.
“We’re seeing the next generation of clients coming through our doors and it’s really wonderful to now be working with the grandsons of some of my grandfather’s original clients,” said Alexander. “These long-term relationships with clients and their families are the cornerstone of the firm’s success.”
Committed to public service, Alexander has been President of the Mental Health Association of Essex and Morris, Inc. since 2016 and a long-time Board member. He received his law doctorate from Yeshiva University, Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University, School of Industrial and Labor Relations. He joined Mandelbaum Barrett in 1995.
