McGuire Development expands its presence in Florida and is spending $ 12.1 million to purchase an office building in suburban Fort Lauderdale.
McGuire bought Atrium Sunrise’s 99,870 square meter Atrium West office complex in Sunrise from Atrium Sunrise, marking his first commercial property purchase in southeast Florida. The company previously owned a medical practice complex in Naples, Florida.
The two-story building was built in the late 1980s. Tenants include government agencies such as the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Florida Department of Education.
The acquisition comes two years after opening a Fort Lauderdale office after decades of investing in other parts of the state, primarily in the Naples area.
McGuire is now looking for further acquisitions in South Florida, the company said.
“The continued population growth and business-friendly climate of southeast Florida contribute to its active real estate market, and this asset is a perfect fit for our current holdings,” said CEO F. James McGuire.
