Minority Real Estate Invest Trust (MREIT) to Develop Sustainable Properties with $50 million in Revenue, Welcomes Investors

The Minority Real Estate Invest Trust (MREIT) has announced new property-based investment opportunities for accredited investors seeking their interest. MREIT expects revenue of over $ 50 million from home sales, vacation rentals and memberships. Investors can expect a return of 20% on their investment.

A prominent opportunity announced by MREIT comes from Northern Georgia. Here MREIT plans to raise 25 million US dollars in capital for the acquisition and development of a 440 hectare property. The area includes 93 single-family houses, 7 holiday homes, 3 planted ponds, a garden, a vineyard, retail space and much more.

MREIT’s focus on minority real estate is based on the latest proposals from the Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD), which aims to significantly increase the proportion of black home ownership over the next nine years. Together with HUD, a large group of other organizations have come together to make this dream a reality and they expect to create 3 million black homeowners by 2030.

Returns from real estate investments via REITs are a reliable and popular form of investment. A Morningstar Direct report estimates that $ 1.5 trillion will be invested in US REITs. This investment brings in income through the sale or rental of property, 90% of which is passed on to shareholders. The investment also creates inflation, with clauses built in and the freedom to increase rents, which makes it all the more important during the Covid pandemic.

There is a wealth gap for blacks, who are also likely to pay more for their first property and own it for less duration. Loans can often be refused by banks and insurance companies with redlining. In the pandemic situation, they are also more likely to be affected by the economic crisis. This means that concepts like that of MREIT are gaining in importance than ever.

MREIT will focus on acquiring and developing sustainable communities in rural or undervalued areas. The team is available for all questions about investing in real estate via the REIT route.
