NREP to acquire real estate credit business of M3 Capital Partners
The Nordic real estate manager NREP has agreed to take over the real estate lending business of the global investment and consulting firm M3 Capital Partners in order to boost its German business, a spokeswoman confirmed on Thursday.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
In the deal, NREP will initially acquire a minority stake of 49% in the property management business, a spokeswoman said. The remaining shares are slated to be acquired by early 2024, she said.
NREP’s assets under management are estimated at $ 14 billion.
M3 real estate funds invest in mezzanine loans and total loans for first-class real estate values in the largest German cities. The company’s new strategies, which will be rolled out in 2022, will focus on green and sustainable lending.
“This transaction is an important milestone for NREP in our ongoing efforts to solve challenges in the urban ecosystem in all regions,” said Claus Mathisen, CEO of NREP, in a press release on Thursday. “After our entry into Poland, this latest expansion into Germany with a focus on green financing solutions further strengthens our non-Nordic presence and fulfills our efforts to offer our clients exposure to a diversified range of real estate investment products.”
M3 Capital Partners manages $ 14.2 billion in assets, according to its website.
