Real estate investment trust NewRiver appoints new chairman to pub board
Real Estate Investment Trust NewRiver has hired a new chairman to help manage its Hawthorn community pub business, starting immediately.
New Chairman Colin Rutherford, a board veteran, will oversee over 650 pubs while maintaining his role as the non-executive director and chair of the audit committee of the FTSE 250 restaurant, pub and bar operator, Mitchells & Butlers.
Shares rose 2.14 percent this morning to 95.4 pence per share.
The company, which buys, manages and develops retail and leisure properties, snapped up the pub management platform in 2018, strengthening its portfolio of now £ 1.1bn.
Rutherford, who has served on the Board of Directors for over 30 years, currently serves on the Audit, Compensation and Nominations Committees of NewRiver’s Board of Directors and chairs the Audit Committee. He also sits on the board of directors and audit committee of Nasdaq Evofem Biosciences.
