ReMax changes hands as Janalee Adams takes over for Pam Horn

Janalee Adams never really planned on running his own real estate office, but when the opportunity presented itself in late 2020, the real estate agent seized the opportunity.

Fortunately for Adams, who will take over the new owner of ReMax About You after Pamela Horn’s retirement, she will be able to stay in a familiar office with the same clients and other real estate agents at ReMax, where she has been a broker for the past three years.

“I’ve always known Pam. She’s been a really good mentor and friend, ”said Adams.

Adams stated that she had had talks with Horn to later buy ReMax, but due to some unexpected changes in Horn’s life, the two friends decided to speed up the sales process, which resulted in Adams finalizing the ReMax purchase in early January.

“When she talked about retiring and doing different things, I decided it was time for change for me too,” said Adams. “I just decided to do it honestly.”

Adams says most things will stay the same in the office at 563 Pershing St.

Brette Westberg – another ReMax agent – will stay with Adams and work under Adams so the couple can advance Craig’s ReMax through their own visions and ideas.

“It’ll just be the two of us,” said Adams. “We have different ideas, maybe just to spark a little interest in the community. Really, the past year has been crazy busy in real estate, so we expect that this spring and summer as well. “

Knowing that the real estate market in northwest Colorado is booming as people in town look to get out of it, Adams said this helped seize the opportunity to own ReMax.

“The madness [of the market]Honestly, it took that into account, ”said Adams. “I was thinking about the stability part that goes into the new year. This whole COVID thing was so crazy, but it got business in the real estate market going. “

With a hot real estate market and demands to take on the new owner, Adams looks forward to the new role and all that it has to offer.

“I’m really excited about the responsibility and the changes that come with this move,” said Adams.
