She said the Barry building is undergoing renovations, including improvements to the main lobby.
“Structurally, the building is in phenomenal shape,” she said. “It’s a historical part of North Bay and I want to decorate the building with North Bay art to keep the local historical theme as people walk through the doors.”
Unger said her interest in the building peaked on Thanksgiving, but the owner was not interested in selling it.
She said Remax was renting space on Cassells Street and wanted to own a building.
“We knew we wanted this room,” said Unger. “We loved it. Then hit COVID-19. We were just about to finish everything. We asked ourselves,” What are we doing? “But we knew if we stopped investing in the city what would happen. Imagine before, everyone would have done that? “
Unger said it is a good time to show her staff and North Bay that she believes in them.
Remax Legend has 30 employees in offices in North Bay, Restoule, Callander and Sundridge.
