Spring breaks out at Harbor Country Chamber of Commerce party | News
THREE OAKS — Spring was breaking out all over in Journeyman Distillery’s Warren Hall during the March 31 Harbor Country Chamber of Commerce Spring Breakout Party.
The Main Street Dueling Pianos entertained (and took requests) while party-goers enjoyed food, drink, good company and raffle contests. A centerpiece of the evening was the literal unveiling of the 2022 Harbor Country Guide cover.
“We’re back!” exclaimed Chamber Executive Director Kimberlee Wendt while welcoming those gathered upstairs.
She said the Guide is produced in-house at the Chamber “with a small band of dedicated, talented people” including Fusion Design Group (Tim Rogers and Shelby Sexton), Chamber Social Media Manager Emily Hojara, Chamber Office Manager Robin Garoutte, writer Holly Schulman, and photographer David Knight.
Wendt noted that Tim Rogers is the cover artist for 2022.
Copies of the area resource for visitors and residents seeking places to stay and eat, things to do and a section titled “Harbor Country Living” featuring community information were distributed during the Spring Breakout Party. The annual Guide also serves as the official directory of the 400-plus active Chamber members (the virtual version can be viewed on HarborCountry.org).
Wendt noted that both business and social memberships to the Chamber are available.
Also recognized during the Spring Breakout Party were event sponsors Journeyman Distillery, Blue Fish Vacation Rentals, Horizon Bank, Teachers’ Credit Union, Chikaming Open Lands, David McNabb Edward Jones, Harbor Country Storage, Honor Credit Union, Lake Homes Realty, Rotary Club of Harbor Country, Tom Hemingway/Remax, MAK Salon & Spa, and Red Arrow Roasters.
“We couldn’t have put on this wonderful event without those sponsors, so thank you very much!” Wendt said.
Wendt also announced that the Harbor Country Hires Job Fair is scheduled for noon to 4 pm May 2 at the New Buffalo Township Library.
“We have 15 employer booths open for $35. The employer received five gas cards … and also we will have a drawing for anybody that fills out an application for $200 in gas cards,” she said.
In a Spring Letter to Chamber members, Board of Directors President Maggie Martin noted that a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Radio Harbor Country in Sawyer is planned for April 27 (time to be determined).
