There’s power in politics, but commercial real estate was the path for me

Growing up as the son of a mayor of Atlanta was quite a unique experience. Although Sam Massell held public office for eight years as vice mayor, when he was elected mayor it was more of an honor – and a magnifying glass for me.

In 1970, I was an impressionable 14-year-old boy, and had the privilege of seeing how politics worked. I saw how a coalition of the community could actually bring progress to our city.

But looking back 50 years, I have no regrets choosing commercial real estate over politics. Experience is knowledge – let me share some with you!
