WEEK AT A GLANCE: Texan Football returns home for Family Weekend, Women’s Golf tee off fall season

Tarleton Sports is full of competition nearly every day this week, with Texan Football and Soccer rounding it out with home games on Saturday and Sunday.

Texan Women’s Golf will tee off Monday at the Hobble Creek Fall Classic in Springville, Utah, and wrap things up Tuesday. Tarleton Volleyball hits the road again for their final tournament before conference play begins. They head to Greely, Colorado, for the Northern Colorado Classic, as they take on Northern Colorado on Thursday, Santa Clara on Friday, and Cal Poly on Saturday. Texan Cross Country goes to College Station to compete at the Texan A&M Invitational Friday morning. Tarleton Football returns home to play Eastern New Mexico Saturday night, and Texan Soccer wraps up the week on Sunday to begin conference play at home against Abilene Christian.

TARLETON WOMEN’S GOLF begins their 2022 fall season in Springville, Utah, to compete in the Hobble Creek Fall Classic Monday and Tuesday. The most successful golfer in Tarleton history, Isabel Jimenez, begins her fifth year as head coach of Tarleton Women’s Golf. The Texans will have a week off before hitting the road again Sept. 26-27 to Huntsville for the Remax Prime Properties Bearkat Invitational.

TEXAN FOOTBALL looks to get back on track against Eastern New Mexico at 6 pm Saturday night after a tough loss at their first Power Five opponent in TCU. The Greyhounds bring the same 1-1 record that the Texans have to Stephenville. This is a great time for Texan Nation to bring family members to attend, as it is Family Weekend. The next game for the Texans will be the first of a three-game road stretch as they head to Florence, Alabama, to take on North Alabama on Saturday, Sept. 24.

TARLETON SOCCER begins conference play against Abilene Christian on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 1 pm Texan Nation is encouraged to bring their dogs out for the Pups on the Pitch game, as free Tarleton frisbees will be given out. Texan Soccer went 1-1 last week with another dominant 5-0 performance at home against UT Permian Basin and a 1-3 loss at Louisiana Monroe. This gives the Texans a 4-2-1 record going into conference play. Their next game will also be at Tarleton Soccer Complex as they host Utah Tech on Friday, Sept. 23, for Greek Day at 6 pm

TEXAN VOLLEYBALL has one more tournament before conference play begins. They head to Greely, Colorado, to compete in the Northern Colorado Classic. Their first game is against the hosts, Northern Colorado, at 7 pm on Thursday. They will then take on Santa Clara at 4 pm on Friday and finish up against Cal Poly on Saturday at 1 pm Tarleton Volleyball has a few days to recuperate after going 1-2 this weekend at the Dolphin Classic. The Texans’ first conference game will be Thursday, Sept. 22, as they head to Nacogdoches to take on Stephen F. Austin.

TARLETON CROSS COUNTRY heads to College Station to compete at the Texas A&M Invitational at 8 am on Friday. The Texan men took fourth at the UTA Invitational this weekend, while the Texan women finished sixth. Kevin Baez won the men’s side in the Texans’ first invitational at the ACU Naimadu Classic. Their next invitational will be in Fayetteville, Arkansas, as they compete in the Arkansas Chili Pepper Festival on Friday, Sept. 30 at 5 pm

TARLETON SPORTS EXTRAVAGANZA will be held every Monday night at 6 pm at Twisted J Live through the end of basketball season, with certain holiday exceptions. Incentives to the show include ticket giveaways to Twisted J Live shows, food and drink specials, and Tarleton Athletic ticket giveaways. The Todd Whitten Show, presented by Triple Crown Ford, and the Mary Schindler Show, presented by F&M Bank, will highlight this Tarleton Sports Extravaganza.

TICKETS are available for all of the upcoming home events online at TarletonSports.com/tickets. Admission to all home Tarleton soccer games is free to the public. The ticket office is open from 9 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 5 pm at Memorial Stadium. Student tickets are available for free to Tarleton students from any campus with a valid university ID number but must be ordered in advance at TarletonSports.com/tickets.
