US futures edge higher; Fed meeting focuses on inflation data

US stocks open marginally higher on Friday and stay near record levels, with investors apparently not worried about rising inflation ahead of next week’s Fed meeting. At 7:05 a.m. ET (1205 GMT), the Dow futures contract rose 95 points, or 0.3%, S&P 500 futures traded 8 points or 0.2% higher, and Nasdaq 100 futures rose 30 points or 0.2%. The three major indices closed higher on Thursday, with the broad-based S&P 500 closing 0.5% higher and setting a new record during regular trading, the blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average gaining 0.1% and the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite closed 0.8% higher.
