LOGIC Commercial Real Estate launches tax division

LOGIC Commercial Real Estate this month announced the opening of a new corporate services division – LOGIC Property Tax Appeal.

According to a November 10 press release, LOGIC Property Tax Appeal is helping business owners and real estate investors reduce property tax expenses by filing property tax claims on behalf of owners.

The new division will be headed by Shawn Heine, partner at LOGIC Commercial Real Estate with offices in Reno and Las Vegas. He previously worked for a Fortune 200 company that challenged taxes on their assets.

“With almost a decade of experience filing property taxes and a background in real estate law, I have the necessary knowledge to make the property tax objection procedure smooth for every customer,” said Heine in a statement. “As a father and husband, I know how precious time is. My mission is to provide a service that saves business owners and real estate investors money while allowing them to focus on the things that matter most to them. “

According to the press release, the typical tax appeal process for property owners can be tedious. First, owners need to obtain recent valuations to determine if the property’s taxable value is excessive compared to comparable properties. Then they must file a formal protest with the local county treasury. You would then start negotiating with the appraiser for a lower tax base. If unsuccessful, they must provide evidence at a formal hearing before the county appeals committee.
