Real estate seen as top investment option this year
(The Filipino Star) March 7, 2021 – 12:00 p.m.
MANILA, Philippines – Real estate investments in the country remain a top option as reforms continue in the business environment and massive infrastructure projects are in progress, according to leading real estate advisors.
In a report, global real estate services companies Cushman and Wakefield said that despite an expected slow economic recovery from the pandemic, business development coupled with resumption of national infrastructure projects this year would fuel a spate of real estate activity from buyers and sellers.
Likewise, real estate consultancy Colliers International predicts that the progression of major projects in 2021 will boost the real estate investment trust (REIT) market. For example, projects such as the LRT-2 East Extension, the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), the Skyway SLEX Extension, the MRT Line-7, the BGC-Ortigas Link Bridge and the NLEX-SLEX connecting road are expected to be completed between 2021 and 2021 2022.
Data from Leechiu Property Consultants (LPC) also shows that many individuals and families have found it worthwhile to invest in a “second home” outside of the subway, as suburban real estate allows for more flexibility during crises like the pandemic.
Given these positive real estate results and forecasts, leading real estate solutions platform Ohmyhome is optimistic that bullish Filipinos will be encouraged to invest in real estate this year.
Ohmyhome was launched in the country in September 2020 and is designed to make living practical, fast and enjoyable for potential Filipino real estate investors. With a DIY platform and agent services accessible through the easy-to-use application and website, Ohmyhome has received exceptionally good feedback from its first-time users.
“Many Filipino customers are still used to talking to agents on social media who may be referred to them by someone they know,” said Ohmyhome co-founders, Race and Rhonda Wong. “So we would like to make more efforts to bring the convenience of our application and website to the real estate public. We want Filipino home buyers to see how Ohmyhome technology can make their real estate investments a seamless and easy process in 2021. “
