Among foreigners, the largest number of apartments in Poland are bought by citizens of Ukraine. In 2019, foreigners bought 8 500 apartments in Poland. According to experts, most often foreigners buy apartments in large cities: Warsaw, Krakow, Wroclaw, Poznan and Gdansk. Foreigners paid more than 1.8 billion zlotys (around 400 million euros) for housing worth 9,000 zlotys (2,000 euros) last year.

Experts note that Ukrainians in Poland are most likely to buy apartments to meet their housing needs, while Western Europeans like Germans see it as an investment.

According to experts, the upward trend in the volume of housing bought by foreigners in Poland will continue in the coming years, although it is likely to decline this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
